A team of volunteer Regional Coordinators visit libraries to provide on-site training on topics such as library administration and reading promotion activities. The program features a plenary session alongside a series of interactive workshops led by professionals in reading promotion, child development, and creative writing. Just as importantly, the conference creates space for meaningful exchange, allowing participants to share successes, reflect on challenges, and strengthen connections across the network. In 2021 and 2022, the conference was paused due to the pandemic; however, LPP adapted quickly by recording workshop sessions and distributing them digitally to libraries, ensuring continuity in training and support. These sessions are designed to equip library managers with practical skills they can carry directly into their communities. In turn, they implement engaging programs for children in school and municipal libraries, extending the reach and impact of LPP far beyond the conference itself. In recent years, workshop topics have included creative writing, puppet-making and performance development, and approaches to supporting children’s emotional well-being—drawing in part on materials from the Spain-based publisher Sentir. For many participants, this represents a rare and valuable opportunity for specialized professional development not otherwise available to them. By investing in the growth and creativity of library managers, these workshops amplify the effectiveness of LPP-sponsored reading programs and help foster richer, more meaningful experiences for the El programa incluye una sesión plenaria, junto con una serie de talleres interactivos dirigidos por profesionales en promoción de la lectura, desarrollo infantil y escritura creativa. Igualmente importante, la conferencia crea un espacio para un intercambio significativo, permitiendo a los participantes compartir éxitos, reflexionar sobre los desafíos y fortalecer las conexiones dentro de la red. En 2021 y 2022, la conferencia fue suspendida debido a la pandemia; sin embargo, LPP se adaptó rápidamente grabando las sesiones de los talleres y distribuyéndolas digitalmente a las bibliotecas, lo que garantizó la continuidad de la capacitación y el apoyo. Estas sesiones están diseñadas para dotar a los bibliotecarios de habilidades prácticas que pueden aplicar directamente en sus comunidades. A su vez, implementan programas atractivos para niños en bibliotecas escolares y municipales, extendiendo el alcance y el impacto de LPP mucho más allá de la propia conferencia. En los últimos años, los temas de los talleres han incluido escritura creativa, creación de títeres y desarrollo escénico, y enfoques para apoyar el bienestar emocional de los niños, basándose en parte en materiales de la editorial española SENTIR. Para muchos participantes, esto representa una oportunidad única y valiosa de desarrollo profesional especializado que de otro modo no estaría a su alcance.
